Welcome to my blog on IoT! This is the place where I share my knowledge, my experience, my challenges and my delight as I try to uncover the secrets of IoT.
If you didn’t know yet, IoT stands for “Internet of Things”. Wikipedia defines the Internet of Things as …
“… a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.”Wikipedia
To me, it means hooking up your devices to the internet and find out how they interact. But it’s often not that simple as you may find out reading from my blogs…
Having had an interest in computers, programming, and automation ever since I bought a 5-1/4″ floppy for the first Apple ][ at high school, my interest for IoT was sparked about 5 years ago when I first started experimenting with an ESP8266. Since then I have been tinkering around with multiple set-ups and systems, both for domestic use as for industrial use. And after countless of experiments and failures I finally managed to develop an Industrial IoT system that actually had true benefit for the factory I installed it at. It is possible!
As my mind never stops coming up with new experiments I felt a strong sense to share my knowledge with you. I would like to take you on my journey of experiments, successes and failures written down in the blogs currently available and future blogs to follow.
